Gary Guzman leads military talent acquisition efforts at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In January of 2018, Gary joined AWS as a Military Corporate Fellow through Hiring our Heroes after serving 23-years in the United States Air Force. He began his private sector career as a Technical Sourcing Recruiter with AWS and has since strategically recruited for Amazon Financial Technologies and Amazon Business. Most recently, he recruited cleared candidates for the Amazon Dedicated Cloud team to support defense, intelligence, and national security cloud customers. Gary now recruits and advocates for veteran talent, including transitioning servicemembers and military spouses, on behalf of all AWS organizations.

While on active duty, Gary led multiple cross-functional medical teams as an enlisted healthcare administrator, specializing in healthcare IT and human resources. He deployed multiple times to combat trauma hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan, and also served as an Embedded Healthcare Training Advisor to the Afghan National Army.

Gary also purposefully serves as a strong veteran advocate, advisor, and ally in the military transition space as a Hiring our Heroes and Veterati mentor, as a FourBlock Career Readiness Instructor, and as Co-Founder of PostMilitary, an organization dedicated to helping veterans define personal success after serving our great nation.
